The UCLA-CDU CFAR Global CAB was created in October 2022 and is a part of the Community Engagement Core housed at Charles R. Drew University. The function of the Global CAB is to provide community input into HIV research and to link local and international investigators to the communities in which they represent. The Global CAB membership is composed of members representing multiple countries in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Membership is composed of researchers, academics, community activists, and stakeholders. The Global CAB is led by 3 CDU faculty co-chairs that represent global, community, and scientific interests. The Global CAB meets regularly on the first Wednesday of each month.
