Nixon Chisonga is a Lecturer at Mulungushi University, in Zambia. He is a social scientist with over 22 years of experience in research that has centered on intergenerational and transactional sex as a key driver of HIV-AIDS epidemic and its effects on young people’s access to housing in Southern Africa. Nixon’s work initially centred on developing and conducting evaluations of national HIV and AIDS strategic plans in Southern Africa, and eventually concentrated on health systems programming at implementation level. Over the years, he has combined work within the NGO sector as an academic. He holds an M.Phil and a BSc Honours Degree from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) and an undergraduate Degree from the University of Zambia, and currently a PhD candidate.
