This will be an open, informal discussion focused on:

Building community among emerging researchers interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and HIV science

The upcoming Clinical Discovery Seminar entitled, “Studying Cardiovascular Risk and Outcomes among PWH in the CFAR Network of Integrated Clinical Systems Cohort (CNICS),” features Dr. Matt Durstenfeld, Assistant Professor of Medicine, UCLA Division of Cardiology.

Performance of the American Heart Association's new calculator, "PREVENT," among PWH
Strengths of the CNICS Cohort for observational research among PWH
Practical steps to get involved with the CNICS Cohort and use CNICS data

You’re invited to lunch and a presentation featuring Dr. Laura Bogart, Laura M. Bogart, PhD, Senior Behavioral Scientist, RAND Corporation, Professor of Policy Analysis, Pardee RAND Graduate School, and Professor of Psychiatry, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. This is the 5th in a series of presentations and discussions on HIV research in South Los Angeles and beyond. Participants will have an opportunity to learn new research methods, meet other HIV researchers, network, learn about HIV research funding opportunities, and of course have lunch. This event is free.

"CMV, Aging, and HIV"
Dr. Hunt will review the evidence supporting a potential role of asymptomatic CMV co-infection as a driver of persistent immune dysfunction and morbidity and mortality in people treated with HIV. He will also describe exciting results from a recent clinical trial of letermovir supporting a causal role of CMV in these processes as well as functional aging outcomes in this setting. Important sex differences in the response to treating asymptomatic CMV in this setting will also be discussed.

Using humor, storytelling, and performance to spark urgent conversations about sexual health, the UCLA Sex Squad is now recruiting for the upcoming quarters.

We’re seeking creative, passionate Bruins from all majors who care about community health and arts-based activism to join our 4-unit WL ARTS 160 course in winter. No experience required!

Students will train with professional artists, collaborate on original sketches, and bring engaging sex education performances to students across Los Angeles.
