Join us for a day of scientific exchange focused on advancing HIV research from discovery to impact, sustaining innovation in a changing funding landscape, and elevating community priorities that shape the future of prevention, treatment, and implementation science.

The conference is scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2026 from 8:00AM-3:00PM at the California Endowment Center.

ELIGIBILITY Open to all researchers, clinicians, and community partners engaged in HIV/AIDS-related work—including, but not limited to, CFAR awardees.
HEADING
  1. Title: Use a concise title that indicates the content of the abstract.
  2. Authors: Authors’ names should be typed in upper- and lowercase letters (please do not use all capital letters). Use first name and last name. Indicate the presenting author and include an e- mail address and business phone. There is a limit of 10 authors per abstract.
  3. Affiliations: List institution, city, and state for domestic authors. List  institution, city, and country for international authors. Do not include department, division, laboratory, or acknowledgements.
CONTENT Abstracts are limited to one page.

Suggested Format:
For Pilot Projects, Supplement Awards and projects resulting from the utilization of CFAR Cores

  • A maximum of one table or one figure may be included. Please do not include literature references or copyright or trademark symbols.
  • Please bold the following four section headings within the text of your abstract.
    • Background: A concise statement of the issue under investigation or a hypothesis.
    • Methods: The experimental methods used (including the statistical analyses employed).
    • Results: Specific findings (promises such as “to be completed” or “to be presented” are not acceptable).
    • Conclusions: A summary of findings that are supported by your results. (Statistical analyses used to support the conclusions, where appropriate, should be included; avoid concluding statements such as “the results will be discussed”).

For Other

  • Abstracts should focus on HIV/AIDS-related work (basic, clinical, behavioral, implementation science, policy, etc.).
  • Brief Description of Project
  • Research Domain(s) Covered by Project
  • Key Findings or Insights (if available)
  • How the funded activity has advanced HIV/AIDS Research at UCLA and/or CDU.
