Dr. Currier brings her expertise in clinical therapeutics and experience in managing large research collaborations to the leadership of the CFAR. Dr. Currier is Professor of Medicine and the Michael and Sue Steinberg Professor of Global AIDS Research at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She currently serves as the Co-Principal Investigator for the ACTG Network Leadership Operations Center and Chair for the ACTG Network. She has broad scientific expertise, extensive leadership experience and a strong commitment to collaborative efforts and mentorship. Dr. Currier has over twenty-five years of experience in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials to evaluate the treatment and management of HIV infection and related complications in adults with a focus on women’s health. In addition, she serves a MPI for the UCLA AIDS Prevention and Treatment Clinical Trials Unit, a unit that has included sites in the ACTG and HPTN networks. She will bring her expertise in HIV Therapeutics and will utilize her extensive network of collaborations to connect investigators from across the CFAR to others working in the field and to identify new directions for the CFAR.
