2nd Annual CFAR Symposium

The 2nd Annual CFAR Symposium on HIV/AIDS will be on Thursday, May 1, 2025 in Los Angeles, CA.  This annual symposium is organized by the UCLA-CDU CFAR in collaboration with UCLA CHIPTS.  The aim of this symposium is to provide cutting-edge research presentations, posters, and networking opportunities with leading experts in HIV prevention, treatment and care.

The conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at the UCLA Faculty Club from 8:00am-3:00pm (PST). More information to come soon!

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to all researchers, clinicians, and community partners engaged in HIV/AIDS-related work—including, but not limited to, CFAR awardees.

HEADING:

  1. Title: Use a concise title that indicates the content of the abstract.
  2. Authors:  Authors’ names should be typed in upper- and lowercase letters (please do not use all capital letters). Use first name and last name. Indicate the presenting author and include an e- mail address and business phone. There is a limit of 10 authors per abstract.
  3. Affiliations: List institution, city, and state for domestic authors. List institution, city, and country for international authors. Do not include department, division, laboratory, or acknowledgements.

CONTENT:

Abstracts are limited to one page.

Suggested Format:

For Pilot Projects, Supplement Awards and projects resulting from the utilization of CFAR Cores.

  • A maximum of one table or one figure may be Please do not include literature references or copyright or trademark symbols.
  • Please bold the following four section headings within the text of your abstract.
    • Background: A concise statement of the issue under investigation or a hypothesis.
    • Methods: The experimental methods used (including the statistical analyses employed).
    • Results: Specific findings (promises such as “to be completed” or “to be presented” are not acceptable).
    • Conclusions: A summary of findings that are supported by your results. (Statistical analyses used to support the conclusions, where appropriate, should be included; avoid concluding statements such as “the results will be discussed”).

For Other.

  • Abstracts should focus on HIV/AIDS-related work (basic, clinical, behavioral, implementation science, policy, etc.).
  • Brief Description of Project.
  • Research Domain(s) Covered by Project.
  • Key Findings or Insights (if available).
  • How the funded activity has advanced HIV/AIDS Research at UCLA and/or CDU.
