CHIPTS is excited to invite you to a career-development webinar titled “Building a Budget – Financial Basics for Research Proposals” on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM PT. During this webinar, Laura Sheehan, Manager of Research Administration for the Department of Family Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM), will review the basics of how to create a budget that will meet the needs of your research proposal while remaining within the confines of sponsor restrictions.
During this webinar, participants will learn how to:
- Identify and describe common elements of a research budget.
- Dissect sponsor guidelines to glean important information needed to create a strong budget proposal.
- Determine how project needs might affect specific budget line items.
- Describe best practices for crafting a budget justification.
